This Privacy Policy explains how Studivance collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our platform and services.
Studivance ("we", "our", "us") is a curated professional support network connecting students and professionals with academic experts, skilled service providers, and career opportunities. Our platform operates at studivance.co.uk. You can contact us at Info@studivance.co.uk.
We collect information you provide directly: name, email address, password (hashed), professional profile details (CV, skills, work history), and payment information (processed securely by Stripe or Paystack — we do not store card numbers). We also collect technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, used solely for platform operation and improvement.
We use your information to: create and manage your account; match you with relevant experts or recruiters; process subscription payments; send transactional emails (account confirmation, booking notifications, receipts); improve our services; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
If you create a candidate profile on Studivance Career Bridge, your profile (including job title, skills, location, and work history) will be visible to verified Pro recruiters. Your full name, contact details, and CV are only shared with recruiters when you have an active subscription and choose to make your profile visible. You can hide or delete your profile at any time from your dashboard settings.
We share data only as necessary: with Supabase (database & authentication infrastructure), Stripe or Paystack (payment processing), Resend (transactional email delivery), and Vercel (hosting). All third-party providers are bound by appropriate data protection agreements. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of Studivance and its users.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records for tax compliance). Anonymised analytics data may be retained longer.
We use essential cookies for authentication (session management) and optional analytics cookies to understand platform usage. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. We do not use advertising cookies or share cookie data with ad networks.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; restrict or object to processing; and data portability. To exercise these rights, email Info@studivance.co.uk. UK and EU residents also have the right to lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority (ICO in the UK).
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS), hashed passwords (bcrypt via Supabase Auth), Row-Level Security on all database tables, and regular security audits. However, no system is 100% secure — we cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet.
Studivance is not directed at children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes by email or via a prominent notice on our platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Studivance after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
