In 2023, we processed $182 billion and are Nigeria’s largest merchant acquirer.</p> <p><strong>About the role</strong></p> <p>We are looking for a Head of M&amp;A to take full ownership of our mergers and acquisitions strategy and execution. This role is responsible for the entire M&amp;A lifecycle — from deal origination and target screening through transaction execution.</p> <p>This is a high-impact, execution-focused role suited to a commercially minded leader who can operate independently, manage multiple stakeholders, and ensure acquisitions deliver tangible value after close.</p> <p><strong><br></strong><em>Curious about what makes Moniepoint an incredible place to work?</em><a href="https://moniepoint.com/blog"><em> </em><em>Check out posts on how we cultivate a culture of innovation, teamwork, and growth.</em></a></p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <h3><strong>M&amp;A Strategy &amp; Deal Origination</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Develop and own the company’s <strong>M&amp;A strategy</strong> aligned with overall business objectives</li> <li>Proactively <strong>originate acquisition opportunities</strong> through market research, networking, and direct outreach</li> <li>Build and maintain a <strong>robust acquisition pipeline</strong></li> <li>Assess strategic fit, synergies, and value creation potential of targets</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Deal Execution &amp; Transaction Management</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Lead <strong>end-to-end deal execution</strong>, including:</li> <ul> <li>Target evaluation and valuation</li> <li>Commercial, financial, operational, and strategic due diligence</li> <li>Deal structuring and negotiation<br><br></li> </ul> <li>Act as the internal <strong>deal quarterback</strong>, coordinating legal, financial, tax, and technical advisers</li> <li>Prepare and present investment cases to senior leadership and the Board</li> <li>Manage transaction timelines, risks, and decision-making processes<br><br></li> </ul> <h3><strong>Post-Acquisition Integration (Critical)</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Take <strong>direct responsibility for post-merger integration</strong></li> <li>Design and lead <strong>Day-1, Day-30, and Day-100 integration plans</strong></li> <li>Work closely with functional leaders (Finance, Operations, Product, Technology, HR, Sales) to:<br><br></li> <ul> <li>Integrate systems, processes, and teams</li> <li>Capture synergies and manage costs</li> <li>Ensure cultural alignment and change management</li> </ul> <li>Track and report on <strong>value creation, synergy realisation, and integration KPIs</strong></li> </ul> <h3><strong>Stakeholder Management &amp; Governance</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Act as a trusted partner to the CEO, CFO, and leadership team</li> <li>Engage effectively with founders, management teams, investors, and external partners</li> <li>Establish M&amp;A governance, playbooks, and repeatable processes</li> <li>Continuously improve the company’s M&amp;A capability and execution maturity</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>8–15+ years’ experience in M&amp;A / Corporate Development</li> <li>Proven experience leading full-cycle M&amp;A, including post-deal integration</li> <li>Strong understanding of: Valuation methodologies, Deal structuring, Due diligence processes</li> <li>Experience working with UK-based and cross-border transactions</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to operate hands-on in a lean environment</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Skills</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong commercial and strategic judgement</li> <li>Excellent negotiation and influencing skills</li> <li>Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity</li> <li>Highly organised, execution-driven mindset</li> <li>Strong financial modelling and analytical skills</li> <li>Pragmatic leader with credibility across senior stakeholders</li> <li>Comfortable “owning outcomes” rather than advising from the sidelines</li> </ul> <p><br><br></p> <p><strong>What we can offer you</strong></p> <ul> <li>Culture - We put our people first and prioritise the well-being of every team member.
