About this role
Responsibilities:
- Develop architectural concepts, designs, layouts, and detailed construction drawings.
- Prepare floor plans, elevations, sections, 3D models, renderings, and presentation materials
- Interpret client requirements and translate them into practical, innovative, and functional design solutions.
- Conduct site visits, surveys, and assessments to support project planning and design development.
- Coordinate architectural designs with civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering requirements
- Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and relevant regulatory authorities.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, material selections, and contractor submissions.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved architectural designs and specifications.
- Identify and resolve design, technical, and construction-related issues
- Assist with project planning, cost estimates, specifications, and tender documentation
- Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, planning regulations, safety standards, and other statutory requirements.
- Prepare project reports, technical documentation, and progress updates.
- Monitor project progress and ensure deliverables are completed within agreed timelines and quality standards.
- Stay updated on current architectural trends, construction materials, technologies, and sustainable design practices.
- Provide technical and design support throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
- A minimum of an HND in architecture. A master's degree in architecture is an added advantage.
- Proven relevant experience in architectural design and project execution.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, Lumion, or similar architectural design software.
- Strong knowledge of architectural design principles, building construction, and planning regulations.
- Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate architectural, structural, and engineering drawings.
- Strong creativity, visualization, and technical drawing skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and project coordination skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Registration with ARCON and membership of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) is an added advantage.
- Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
